Diary of Two-Faced Esmeralda Jackson - Entry Four (Part One)

Entry Four- My Mission is a Waste

What a wonderful waste of a day! There is no way Avery has time to plot against the Armada because he is too busy worrying about trivial things! I was trained to fight the spirals most successful and cunning pirate and I’m sent to retrieve an amulet. A silly shark named Fin had taken it.
Before I even had the chance to go and find the cutthroat the local troggies started attacking. Turns out Fin started it. I began to think that maybe he’s stronger than I originally thought.  The troggies were relatively easy to defeat but unfortunately I had to report back to a fox musketeer named Bonnie Anne who then insisted that she join my crew. Wing Chun and I exchanged a glance and he gave me a knowing look that told me I had better accept her or else things would begin to look fishy.  So now I have a fox following me around that I have to pretend to be a pirate for.
Fin was said to be hiding in Skull Mountain. By the time my crew and I reached the entrance of Skull Cave I started to have a bad feeling about this mission. Cutthroats were everywhere and we were clearly outnumbered.

“Let’s go pick a fight,” Bonnie Anne said and started making her way towards the sharks. If she was brave enough to face all these monsters then I surely could.

“Wait,” Wing Chun said and he motioned for me to come closer to him. “I sense that someone else is close.”

I looked around me and didn’t see anyone but the nasty looking cutthroats that hadn’t noticed us yet.

“What is taking you two so long? The cutthroats won’t ignore us forever,” Bonnie Anne gave us both an impatient look.

“I sense another human is close to us.”

“Well I don’t see-” But Bonnie Anne didn’t get a chance to finish her sentence.

“Ah-choo!”

“Did that bush just sneeze?” Wing Chun asked.

I walked over to the brush, moved a few rather large leaves and revealed a little girl. She was wearing a red and white stocking cap along with a hand me down outfit and some rough looking shoes.

Diary of Two-Faced Esmaralda Jackson - Entry Three

Entry Three - Day one of my new life

It isn’t easy being thrown about on a ship with cannons and then whisked away by a monkey and an old man who smells like gun powder. I had to watch as my homeland’s ship fell through the skyway, they even made me do it. Only clockworks were left on though, so no real loss as others can always be made. We hurried to Skull Island and Avery welcomed me with some not so open arms.

“You’re the orphan that Boochbeard insisted on rescuing then? Not much are you? Well I suppose if Mr. Gandry thinks you’re worth it… I guess I could offer you a bunker to stay in for the night.”

I tried not to sneer, “A night? I just practically got blasted out of the sky. Don’t you think you could do better?”

Avery frowned. “Now no need to be nasty. Maybe I could offer you a semi-permanent home for you here… for a price.”

“How much?” I asked reaching for my leather pouch. The Armada had made sure I had enough gold to persuade any pirate.

“I don’t need you gold. I need you to owe me a favor, swear to it?”

A favor? That was it? “I swear, on a pirate’s honor.” Avery didn’t seem to catch my sarcasm.

We shook hands and he showed me the way to my new dorm with many gestures from his hands. “It will be right by the life fountain which is just out and down from these doors.” It looked like he was trying to stir his tea in midair but I was usually pretty good with verbal directions. “It’s the one with pink curtains.” Then he waved me away.

I made my way down the correct dorm and opened it with the key that Avery almost forgot to give me. Wing Chun had been sent to another one of this islands many dorms most of which seemed to be well hidden. The dorm was large but barren with only a hammock, rug, table, and chair to adorn the room. Oh yes, and a pirate flag hanging on the wall, it was very cliché.

I was starting to regret my promise. That pirate Avery could ask me to do just about anything. Before I could get too worried a series of knocks sounded from my door. I opened it to a boy who was not much older than me.

“Are you Esmeralda Jackson?” He asked impatiently.

“Depends on whose asking,” I said crossing my arms.

Two-faced Esmeralda Jackson?” He said raising his eyebrows.

My eyes widened a bit.

“I’m Sneaky Eric Thatcher, Sneaky Eric Jackson Thatcher.” He held out his hand for me to shake. “I believe we have some business to discuss.”

I must stop writing now, it’s getting to be morning and Avery had requested my presence. I believe Eric will be very valuable to the Armada as he has a lot of information regarding the illegal dealings of pirates as Eric grew up on Skull Island.

Diary of Two-Faced Esmeralda Jackson – Entry Two

I’m really enjoying writing this story and so I hope it is enjoyable to read as well. :)

Enjoy!

Entry Two- the origin of my name

The ship is currently sailing at a much slower speed than expected. Either we are close to our destination or we have run into some trouble.

I’ve been mulling over my name ever since I got onto this ship. It is not my given name. I was originally called Amber James but then my sister...well let’s just say I have explored the spiral much more than I have ever wanted to. My name has changed several times in my life. Whether due to rebellion to my parents or out of necessity my name has gone through several changes.

This time my name change is rather symbolic of the adventures that I will have in the future. Two-faced is self-explanatory I would hope as I very much will be having two faces in a figurative way. Esmeralda is Monquistan for emerald which is the color of the Valencia sky, a very stormy place. The Monquista reference is representative for my last quest… that was a disaster. Jackson is the middle name of a friend that will be living on Skull Island when I arrive. Jackson is such an uncommon name in this area that my last name will let the other Jackson know who I am.

A cannon ball has just struck the cell bars at the end of the hallway. It looks like it’s showtime.

Diary of Two-Faced Esmaralda Jackson - Entry One

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic holiday season and that all your prayers go out to any families that are not as fortunate as you this season.

On my Wizard101 blog I just posted the first part of the first chapter of a Wizard101 inspired story. Just after Pirate101 launched I started writing a Pirate101 story. It’s written out like a diary and is centered on a human soldier of the Armada. Now I’m writing this story as I myself progress through the Pirate101 storyline. So if there are any human Armada soldiers… I haven’t met them in game yet. :) But for “fan-fiction” (I have this thing against the term “fan-fiction” even though that is exactly what my story is, I usually like my stories to be original) sake, there will be human members of the Armada. I will be throwing in some of my own original work that will tie in with what really happens in the Pirate101 story so if you haven’t played through the game it might be hard to tell what is “real” and what is “not”.

Leave a comment of you’d like. Constructive criticism is always appreciated. :)

Enjoy!

The Amada’s Double Agent:
Diary of Two-Faced Esmeralda Jackson

Entry One- The Minutes before my Quest Starts

So, this is my first entry as the Armada’s sole double agent. I’m scheduled to be put on an Armada ship at 9:00 and to be sailing in the Skull Island Skyway at approximately noon. The armada suspects Boochbeard and his sidekick to be looking for me. I will be posing as a parentless child and in need of rescuing. This is far from my home life in Wizard City. But after I was deemed to have no magic my parents moved me to Valencia where I studied and learned in their schools. But I was drawn to the Armada, the great clockwork army. It was when I joined as one of the few human members that I learned the skills of a Musketeer. I’m the best sharpshooter in the whole army. No machine has been built to have better accuracy than me.

My mission is to stop any rebellious acts that that pirate on Skull Island, Avery, might send me or any other pirate on. I will have a companion on the ship, a crane student named Wing Chun. He owes me his life after I saved him from a rogue Armada Buccaneer in Moo Shu.

I will be making more entries in the coming days whenever I have a moment to myself. This book will be very dangerous as it will hold any secrets I discover and I have been ordered to burn it at any sign that its information is at risk to being seen.

It is now 8:45 and I must finish my preparations for my greatest quest.

-Two-faced Esmeralda Jackson

P.S. Though I will be known as just Esmeralda Jackson.

One Week Head Start

Hello everyone! We are three days into the one week head start for pirate101. I have already created three different characters and one is almost an exact replica of my first pirate in the beta testing. I would like you to meet Silent Belle Quincy!
I think the only thing that changed from beta was her flag.
Up next is Merciless Vanessa Collins!

She is also modeled after a beta pirate of mine. All I changed was her first name from Isabelle to Vanessa so this pirate could represent my wizard, Vanessa Iceblood, from Wizard101.
Finally I have Two-Faced Esmeralda Jackson!

She really has no resemblance to the beta testing other than the flag color scheme.
I still have yet to create a Privateer and Buccaneer but I think three is a good number of pirates to start out with; I would never be able to have just one pirate to play.
I do not have a subscription for the game… yet. My best hope though is heading over to Gamestop and getting one of the pre-paid cards. What about you? Do you plan on getting a subscription? Do you already have one? Or are you going to be like me and try zone to zone (or in Pirate101’s case, chapter to chapter it seems) and pay with pre-paid cards. Or are you cheap and will only play as far as the free version will allow (though I don’t blame you, gaming can get very expensive, very fast).
Either way Pirate101 is full of fun activities that will keep any pirate busy for a while.

All New Blog

In honor of KI (sort of) releasing a release date for Pirate101 I have decided to put into action an idea that I have been thinking about since the game was announced. That idea was this blog. This will be the site to all Pirate101 related posts that I have from now on as my other blog is already very “wizardy”. The name I chose for this blog came from a darker side of me that thought the armada seems like such a sneaky bunch that having a double agent would be no surprise to me. And so now I present to you… The Armada’s Double Agent! (Me)
